Luigi Contessi does not model ties. He studies them. In his book, Un nodo di personalità, he makes a simple argument: the tie is the one garment a man chooses purely to say something.
So when he came to Como, we did not hand him a product to promote. We sat down and listened. He asked us harder questions than any client ever had. What do you stand for? What would I recognise you by, across a room?
This edition is what happened next.
The birth of Blu Lorenzi.
Some houses are known by a colour alone. An orange sole. A little blue box. Luigi's challenge to us was direct: where is yours?
The answer was waiting outside the window: the pale, luminous blue of Lake Como on a clear morning, the blue of varnished runabouts and quiet water. We call it Blu Lorenzi.
From now on it lives in one precise place, the keeper on the back of every tie we make. Discreet by design: you notice it only up close, which is exactly the point. And on these ninety-nine it goes further, with a tipping in Blu Lorenzi inside the blade.

Cut by hand
Cut on the true bias and assembled as a classic three fold. The knot ties firm, the blade falls straight, and the tie returns to line after every wear.
Woven in Como
True grenadine survives on only a handful of looms in the world. This one is woven in Como: airy to the eye, compact in the hand.
Numbered 1 to 99
Each tie carries its own number, assigned in strict order of purchase. The sooner you order, the lower your number. At ninety-nine, the edition closes for good.

Grenadine is the textured solid that bridges business and evening: matte rather than shiny, with a depth printed silk cannot imitate. It dresses a suit up and an odd jacket down, and it reads elegant rather than loud.

The edition ships from September 7, in strict order of purchase. With code LGC at checkout, shipping is included.
How is my number assigned?
In strict order of purchase: the first order receives No. 1, the next No. 2, and so on. Your number is confirmed with your order.
Can I return it?
This is a capsule edition in a strictly limited run: numbered pieces are made for their owner and are final sale. If you hesitate on anything, write to us before ordering.
Is this the same tie as your permanent navy grenadine?
Same cloth, same construction. The edition adds what cannot be repeated: the numbering and the Blu Lorenzi keeper and tipping, which make their debut here.
Can I request a different length or width?
No. The edition exists in one cut only, 148 × 8.5 cm: the proportions Luigi Contessi considers ideal, and the ones he wears. Changing them would make it another tie.
