Lorenzi Como workshop on Lake Como

Three generations of silk, since 1895.
One single origin.

Every Lorenzi Como tie is born where Italian silk found its home: on the shores of Lake Como. Here, in a workshop that preserves gestures passed down for over a century, thread becomes fabric and fabric becomes craft.

I · Tradition

The Living Archive

Our archives hold thousands of original drawings, fabric swatches and colour charts spanning over a century of silk creativity. They are not museum pieces: they are working tools. Each season, we consult them to rediscover colour balances and geometries that time has not eroded.

This continuity between past and present is the foundation of every Lorenzi Como collection. We do not imitate tradition: we inhabit it.

II · The Loom

The Loom That Speaks

Our silk is woven on jacquard looms that operate at a deliberately reduced speed. It is not a technical limitation: it is a choice. A slower cadence allows the weft thread to settle with greater regularity, producing a fabric that is more compact, more luminous, and more durable over time.

The result is a hand — the feel of the fabric — that anyone who knows silk recognises immediately.

“Silk needs time. Those who rush it, betray it.”

III · Craftsmanship

One hand, from start to finish

Every tie is entirely cut, stitched and finished by hand in our workshop on Lake Como. There are no automated steps. Every gesture — from the bias cut to the interlining insertion, from the slip stitch to the final pressing — is performed by artisans who have worked alongside us for years.

Cutting

The cut is strictly on the bias, at 45 degrees, following the grain of the silk to ensure elasticity and a perfect drape in the knot.

Stitching

The invisible slip stitch runs the entire length of the tie, while the Lorenzi Como label is applied by hand — a discreet signature of a unique piece.

Pattern-making

Before cutting, the fabric is shaped over the pattern — the template that defines the form of the tie. A gesture of precision that precedes every cut.

IV · Packaging

The first gesture is already a gift

Every Lorenzi Como tie is delivered in a hand-printed silk pochette, enclosed in a rigid box with magnetic closure. The unboxing is designed to extend the product experience: from box to pochette, from pochette to tie, each step reveals one more detail.

It is not packaging: it is the first chapter of the story the product tells.
