Description

Woven in Como from high-density jacquard silk (around 112 picks per centimetre), this blue tie has a compact, precise hand and a quiet sheen that holds its shape over time. The small woven geometric motifs in light blue and ivory bring rhythm and depth to the surface, adding character while remaining clean and understated.

Each tie is cut by hand on the true bias, then assembled as a classic 3-fold.
The slip stitch, bar tack and closing are finished by hand, allowing the blade to recover its shape after each wear and giving the tie a natural, fluid drape.

Designed for a life beyond a single season, it adds refined texture to the classic wardrobe while staying perfectly suited to business and formal occasions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a geometric pattern formal enough for business?

A small-scale geometric — sometimes called a foulard — is among the most appropriate patterns for business wear. It carries the formality of a solid tie with added depth.

What's the difference between this tie and a polka dot?

Polka dots feature uniform round motifs; geometric foulards use more varied shapes (medallions, diamonds, stylized florals). Foulards have a slightly more traditional, English tailoring feel.

What suit colors does it pair with?

Grey and navy. For a more relaxed look, it also works with brown or tan tailoring.

How should I knot this tie?

A Four-in-Hand knot is the most flattering for a sartorial 3-fold tie — it creates an asymmetric, slightly imperfect knot that reads as effortlessly elegant. A Half-Windsor works well for spread collars.

Care

This piece is crafted from pure silk or silk satin and finished by hand. To preserve its drape, lustre and shape over time:

  • Dry clean only is recommended
  • Avoid machine washing or soaking in water
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • If needed, steam gently or iron on very low heat on the reverse side, avoiding direct pressure on hand-finished edges and seams
  • After use, let the piece rest flat, loosely folded or gently rolled, away from direct sunlight and heat sources
  • Do not store it tightly compressed, to protect the fabric and the hand-rolled details

With the right care, the fabric will keep its depth, and the piece will age with quiet character.

3 folds or 5 folds

3 folds - the classic Italian construction. Silk folded three times on itself: fluid drape, defined knot, soft structure. The tie you'll wear most.

5 folds - the rarer craft. Five folds, no interlining: the tie falls by the weight of silk alone. Fuller at the knot, more alive in movement. For those who seek the sartorial detail.

Both are hand-stitched in our Como atelier. Request either one by writing to us.

How to tie a tie

Four knots, from simplest to most formal: Four-in-hand, Half Windsor, Windsor, Pratt.

Product questions

Is the monogram really free?
Yes, always. On every tie regardless of model. Three letters hand-embroidered in our atelier, tonal or one of five house contrasts.
How long for a monogrammed tie?
Five days of atelier work plus shipping. The monogram adds no time - it is part of standard production.
Can I choose the embroidery thread?
Yes: tonal default or one of five contrasts - gold, ivory, black, burgundy, midnight. No surcharge.
Can I order the same silk as a pocket square?
Yes, by request. The atelier makes pocket squares matched to the tie, with or without monogram. Write to us via the contact form.
Can I have a monogram on a notebook or bow tie?
Yes - we produce bow ties, leather notebooks and other personalised accessories on request. All with three initials embroidered or embossed.
Are monogrammed ties returnable?
Only in case of defect. Initials make the piece unique and non-resaleable. For doubts about size or colour, write to us before ordering.
How to care for a silk tie?
Untie after each wear. Hang on a wooden hanger, away from direct light. Never steam. For stains: blot with a dry cloth, never rub.
